Recently, Ricardo Negri, Director of the National Institute of Health and Food Quality (SENASA) of Argentina, signed a resolution 263/2018 on the ban on the import of active ingredients of carbofuran, butyl thiocarbamate, diazinon, aldicarb, dicofol and related preparations. product. The resolution came into effect after the publication of Official Gazette (10/09/2018).
Within 365 days of the resolution's entry into force, the above active ingredients and related preparation products will be banned from commercial promotion and use. At that time, the above products will be cancelled at the National Plant Protection Product Registry. It is worth noting that Carbaryl 10% granules are not included in the banned product because it is the only insecticide/nematic nematicide available for both potato and garlic crops.
The purpose of this ban is to take maximum preventive measures to prevent the production, use and commercialization of products that seriously endanger human health and environmental products, and to comply with international standards for the management of plant protection products.
Companies that have obtained a registration for a product (including the above ingredients) may voluntarily apply for cancellation of registration. Companies registering products containing prohibited ingredients must report to SENASA the stock quantity, batch and expiration date within 30 days of the resolution becoming effective. Companies that fail to comply with this resolution may face legal sanctions No. 27, 233, taking punitive measures including confiscation, suspension or any other desirable measures for public health and environmental risks.
