Production method
1. Derived from the reaction of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and metal sodium; methyl chloride. Reflux ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and metal sodium together until the metal sodium is completely reacted, and the temperature is lowered to 45° C., and methyl chloride is introduced. After the reaction is completed, fractional distillation is performed to collect the fraction at 84-85.5°C to obtain the finished product. Refining method: The inspection method of peroxide is the same as that of ether. Peroxide can be refluxed with stannous chloride or removed by activated alumina. Then add a small amount of metallic sodium to remove trace amounts of water. Other refining methods include first drying with sodium wire and adding lithium aluminum hydride to distillation under nitrogen flow. It can also be dried with anhydrous calcium chloride for several days, filtered, distilled with sodium metal, or preserved with lithium aluminum hydride, and distilled before use.
2. While stirring, add sodium metal to ethylene glycol monomethyl ether in small amounts at 60°C, and control the temperature at 78-81°C. After the sodium metal is added, cool to 45°C, and then pass in methyl chloride. The reaction formula is: After the reaction is over, distillation is carried out, and the 84.5-85.5°C fraction is collected to obtain ethylene glycol dimethyl ether.
3. After drying with sodium wire, add lithium aluminum hydride for distillation in the presence of nitrogen, or use anhydrous calcium chloride to dry for a few days, filter out the calcium chloride, add sodium metal for distillation, or add lithium aluminum hydride and place it. Now distilled.
